Pasadena Police Seek Public’s Help Locating Missing Woman

On Monday, Pasadena Police Officers responded to a call reporting a woman missing from her home in the 900 block of Elizabeth. The woman, identified as Patricia Sylvis wandered away from home sometime between the hour of noon and 1:00 p.m. She is diagnosed with Alzheimer’s and was last seen at her residence by her husband at about 12:10 p.m.

Ground and air units were used to patrol the area looking for Mrs. Sylvis. Officers and Detectives canvassed the area, interviewed neighbors, checked the major thoroughfares and local hospitals. In addition, notifications were made to regional police agencies, the bus and gold lines.

Mrs. Sylvis has lived in her Pasadena home with her family for over twenty years. She may be looking for her former home in South EI Monte. Anyone who finds Mrs. Sylvis is asked to call the Pasadena Police Department at (626) 744-4241.
Missing woman

Mrs. Sylvis also goes by the name of Pat. She is a White, 72 years old, 5’4″ tall with brown hair and blue eyes.

She was last seen wearing a bright pink short sleeved silky blouse, dark blue jeans, and light blue tennis shoes. She may not initially give the appearance of having dementia and may mistakenly believe that she is walking towards her home.

“It is a devastating feeling to lose a loved one like this,” says Chief Bernard Melekian.

“Our officers understand that. We will continue to use all the resources at our disposal that will help find her and bring her home.”
