Pasadena residents and businesses will have the opportunity to safely dispose of electronic waste conveniently and free of charge Saturday, April 4, from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. in Parking Lot I of Brookside Park, 360 N. Arroyo Blvd.
E-waste qualified for this special collection, provided by the Pasadena Public Works Department, includes computers, keyboards, printers, monitors, laptops, docking stations, scanners, shredders, fax machines, mice, telephones, televisions, flat screens, VCRs, DVD players, PDAs, cassette players, tape drives, stereos and batteries. Many of the products have parts that will be recycled.
The most recent collection event in January resulted in 13.4 tons (26,700 pounds) of e-waste being recycled. By law e-waste cannot be disposed of in landfills because its hazardous parts can cause environmental damage.
