Free Drive through Flu Shots Greeted Pasadena City Employees Thursday

Published: Thursday, March 26th, 2009

Not all of Pasadena’s 2,300 city employees took advantage of the opportunity to receive free flu shotsThursday during a special drive-through clinic.

A steady line of individual cars and Pasadena ARTS buses transported city employees along the drive-through loop as they went through the paperwork process and then….the shot! The turnout, however was very good according to organizers.

Most Pasadena city employees come in contact with the public on a regular basis, so it is important that they be vaccinated annually. Influenza causes 200,000 hospitalizations and 36,000 deaths annually in the U.S.  Pasadena Public Health Department at 1845 N. Fair Oaks Ave. offers free and low-cost vaccinations to qualifying Pasadena-area residents.

Others should contact their personal physicians. More information can be found at http://www.cdc.gov/flu.
