The Pasadena Police Department will conduct a DUI enforcement
checkpoint on Friday, , in the City of Pasadena beginning on November 13th at 7:00
p.m. lasting through the 14th until 3:00 am. Funding for this program was provided by a
grant from the California Office of Traffic Safety, through the National Highway Traffic
Safety Administration
“This enforcement program is one of the tools we use throughout the year and it is
effective in abating drunk driving:’ says Interim Chief of Poiice Christopher Vicino. “Our
primary goal is to save lives by decreasing drunk driving related collisions and
associated injuries or death. It is our hope that people who intend to drink alcoholic
beverages as part of their holiday celebrations identify a designate driver.
These programs also educate the public about safer driving habits and help the
department identify training opportunities for servers and bartenders who over serve.
“The message is, don’!, drink and drive. If you do, you stand to be punished to the
fullest extent of the law, says Traffic Lieutenant Randell Taylor.
