City of Pasadena to Light Up

Published: Friday, December 4th, 2009

Tuesday, Dec. 8: A 20-foot noble fir is in place at Pasadena’s City Hall. All it needs now is the tree-lighting ceremony. The ceremony takes place at 5:30 p.m. Tuesday, Dec. 8 when Mayor Bill Bogaard leads the holiday celebration by turning on the lights to the tree and the McKinley After-School Performing Choir under the direction of Robin Turrentine sings songs of the season. Refreshments will be served. In the spirit of the season, the city will collect new, unwrapped toys, sporting equipment or gift cards to be placed in the Pasadena Fire Department’s Spark of Love Toy Drive boxes to be distributed to needy children and teens.

The lights on the city’s tree, we are told, are energy-saving LED types donated by the Pasadena Water and Power Dept.
